Looking to buy one now, 1yr old cars seem to be stickered between £50K-£55K (Miles/Spec~) so I am assuming they have around £43K-48K in them, rather than starting the round robin dealer negotiations, just wondered if anyone is off loading one for the new model and has had a PX offer from BMW that i could maybe improve on?

It's probably cheaper to lease a new one for 2 yrs - 6+23 @ £489 plus vat??

Thanks for taking the time to post.
Thats for a STD one I assume. Average extra's spend must be circa £6000 on top, tied in for 2 years a@ 10K miles a year, I would rather take a years depreciation on a well specced, 'well priced' year old car myself, thats using my own man maths of course.

That's a very good point. None of these very cheap deals being quoted include any extras. I don't imagine many base-spec cars exist. My initial sub £600/month quote has very rapidly become £750/month. I really wanted the multi-function seats and 20in wheels....

I don't think one year's depreciation on a used car will be too bad it's a lot of car for under £50k, I just prefer not to worry about residuals so the lease deal suited me perfectly.

Well mines base spec bar 20". As standard I think they are well spec'd up tbh. looking at the options there isnt nothing i really think i must have that. Then that keeps payments down. I put a higher deposit in which covers the cost of the 20"s

Leasing only really works on low/light spec cars as the depreciation on the extras (with a few notable exceptions) will be straight line over the term of the lease. If you are adding a decent personal spec, then purchase or seeking once where someone else has had the pleasure and pain of speccing the car makes financial sense.

Basically, anything not listed in the guides as specifically adding value (metallic, larger wheels, NAV are the typical 3) is straight line depreciation. Some other model specific exceptions.

Hi my dad has just traded his M5 in at Stratstone Hull see below link. He is going for a facelift model but as you can see this is quite a high spec car so could be what you are looking for.

Hi, drove it on Saturday, to many miles at the price they want. Good spec though.

Looks a nice car and as you say a very high spec, ideally am looking for a Silverstone interior but if the rest of the car ticks all the boxes then will not let it be a deal breaker.

Being nosey, can I ask what the trade in price was? Perfectly understand if you do not wish to reveal but if you don't ask you don't get!

If happy to reveal but not publicly then by all means PM me.

Hope you do not mind me asking.

Salesman made it very clear that the price on the screen is the price they will accept, I would have made them a cash offer otherwise.

Thanks for the info, like you I would want a little off that price, surprised they would not budge anything at all.

I am just being nosey to see what their mark up is from wholesale to retail.

Well, managed to find a 2013 car with 5K miles, ridiculously high specced in Citrine Black.
Drove it home yesterday some 150 miles at 29.2mpg..... So far today closer to 15mpg......
