Earlier today my DSC, brake and tyre pressure light all came on and have stayed on. I assume that the DSC and brakes are still OK and I can confirm that the tyre pressures are OK. Is this just a case of getting a garage to reset the system?

Sounds like you have a wheel sensor problem - i've had it on mine too. It'a common problem as the car ages. If you have an erratic or non-functioning speedo it will be the left rear. If not it will more than likely be the left front. The left hand side gets all the gutter and puddle muck thrown up into the suspension and it can build up on the sensors. Whip them out and give them a clean - that may help for a while but to be honest it may be just as easy to replace them.

If you can get the car plugged into a diagnostic reader then it will pinpoint the offending sensor. Failing that other issues could be steering wheel sensor or the abs modulator (that could be costly!). I'd whip the wheel sensors out first though as a) it's free to do! and b) it is more likely to be the problem. If it still persists then i'd go down the diagnostic route...

Hi Rod, you were very nearly right. Our local garage (a small indy with the right attitude)put it on their diagnostic yesterday morning and it said that the geometry was out. As he has a geo ramp and kit he could properly check it, he found all 4 wheels were out and sorted it. I'm really quite pleased as I can feel the difference, so it was money well spent.

Sounds like a result there then. That's the trouble with modern cars - too much electronic trickery that suggest one thing then lead to something else! Plus too much of the car's function seems to rely on wheel sensors... Glad the re-alignement sorted it.
