I've now started my quest to secure a replacement for my A8 when the contract ends in late October & have narrowed my choices down to F10 M5 or E63 AMG.

Not driven either yet so of course that will aid the decision, however as my lure is the great Contract Hire deals around, i'm being thrown a curve ball with the M5. Have been told today by a BMW dealer that the web deals are for MY13 cars & that the reality is none exist so the deals are pretty much fictitious (i'll check this claim out later), however the dealer was able to offer me a deal (not great when compared to the sub £500 a month deals), but only on an LCI car.

My question therefore is, what are the differences between the 2 cars & is their any list price change? The BMW website no longer has spec or brochures so i assume the brochure i downloaded a few weeks back is now obsolete given it must be the outgoing model?

So their's been no price change between the 2 variants or did you do a deal to get the newer model at last years price?

Any idea on the spec differences?

My LCI has just been delivered, at 2013 prices, but I placed the order during the window where they stopped production of the older model and were gearing up for the LCI production.

There is a difference in the base price and the LCI options have had price increases, but a some of the previous options have become standard on the .

In terms of the options themselves, the main new option is the competition package - which is ridiculously overpriced imo. Other than that, there's not a huge amount of new options in comparison - mostly just upgrades.

Thanks. Any idea what these upgrades are? As this will be on Contract Hire, i'll not be looking at adding options, however am keen to know what if anything is better/improved about a base MY13 car & the new LCi car?

I think your dealer is wrong. Placed order 3 weeks ago for LCI on 0% and good discount. Try elsewhere if they can't do it.

The base spec lci cars actually came down £10 a month on contract hire on a 6x23 with 8k a year to £489+vat. That's what I've had on 20"s with 10k a year, so that has increased payments slightly.

I think the options that are now free is app stuff to do with idrive.

I shared the same dilemma having just sold my 2012 C63 as to replace it with the new E63 or M5? Having owned an AMG it's a real blast but I always wanted to own an M5 - both cars are completely different. Eventually I ordered an LCI M5 with an order to build time of 2mths (delivery due early Oct) over a 6mth wait for the E63! The M5 was a far more comfortable car also! Good luck with your decision. I am counting the days!

Thanks.

So no technical, visual or spec differences between the MY13 & LCi cars, just a couple of minor tweaks to software?

I'll push back to the dealer i've been speaking to & confirm the current deals ARE for LCi vehicles. That said, the dealer appears to be only offering a similar deal to what's on the BMW website, albeit with only 3 payments in advance rather than 6.

Can you confirm which dealer this deal came from? I'm looking at the same profile, albeit without the bigger wheels but a 12k pa mileage. Also, what excess PPM where you quoted?

The differences between the MY13. to the LCI model is that the LCI has new front lights and rear lights and rear bumper. Also they have the same steering wheel as the current M6. I have studied the LCI brochure!

Thanks. Is their also not the addition of Apps Interface, Information Plus & Advanced Speaker System as standard where as before they were cost options?
