She's taken on some light corrosion on the surface of the head, the Ali areas. Could polish it off but that's a bind and v hard to get into the nooks. Anybody know any chemical tricks to make the Ali clean and fresh again? I was thinking of trying caustic but don't want to risk damaging other materials.

A quick clean improvement can be had if you give it all a good spray with WD40. Also cleans and shines the plastic stuff too. Leave it to work for a day or so and wipe off any excess with a cloth.

Tile and grout cleaner, that has phosphoric acid in it.
That will take back the dirt, grease, and alloy oxidation.

That's specifically stuff for cleaning alloy engine bits, but you can also find similar stuff in hardware shops for cleaning ceramic tiles. Check the labels looking for phosphoric acid.

Try some Rhino Goo, then rinse, followed by a coating WD40
