Apparently it also accelerates 25% faster in several key ranges. Sounds promising!
This M3 or M4? I didn't think they'd released the M3 figures yet... though I don't suppose it matters. The torque of the turbo will make the roll on in gear times much better than the e9x.
There's no doubt it's going to be VERY fast, the doubt is whether it will have the character of the e46 back.
Autocar gives figures of 424 bhp and 369 lb-ft for the new M3/M4, and 0-60 in 4.5 secs.
By comparison the Alpina B3 quotes 410 hp and 443 lb-ft, 0-100 kph in 4.2 secs, and 0-200 kph in 14 secs.
Both use twin turbo 3 litre 6's; Autocar expressed concern that the pre-production M4 in which they passengered did not sound exciting (perhaps M division will do good work with a sound generator before production starts).
What will be better about the M4 over a B4?
