About to take delivery of a new M5 F10 and I am looking for a used set of winter wheels.
Would be keen to hear from anyone who has a set to sell.

I'm thinking the same and have been looking around.

Clearly OEM will be massively expensive and there are cheaper (new however) options.

Would it be a bad idea to run these on non OEM?

Not sure I want to put aftermarket alloys on the car although appreciate the savings.
Complete sets of OEM alloys with winter tyres are available from £2800.00 delivered to UK address
from Germany so if I can't find a significantly cheaper used set I will probably go down that route.
Also it's worth considering that, from my experience at least, 3 winters use is the maximum the tyres will last.

I'm hoping for a mild winter!

Is insurance still valid on none OEM alloys? Is it valid on unapproved winter tyres?

My summer tyres have only ever been an issue in the snow and we didn't get any snow in Devon last winter.

Some good recent discussion on this here:

I want to know what the best size winter tyres are for my standard 19" alloys, anybody know?

I'm tempted to stick some winters on my standard 19s quite soon and put the MPSSs in the shed - will give better grip when it's cold and lessen the wear on the MPSSs too. Swap them back in the spring and stick the winters away until this time next year. Might be quite amusing have 552bhp and less grip - could make the sideways fun attainable and lower, more sensible speeds.

I am running 20" Dare RF wheels with Michelin Alpin PA4's
255/35/20 fronts 8.5"
275/35/20 rears 10"

You can NOT buy these actual wheels so don't ask, they are as far as I know a "one off".

NO IMO. Two different wheel sizes. 18" do not fit F10 M5's

Me too, thats the only choice really as I am not buying another set of winter alloys at 3k with tyres.

Its just a matter of working out the narrowest winter tyre that suits without changing the rolling diameter too much or making the car look odd

Just put my winters on.

I opted for 19" OEM that come with sensors. £2600 down from £2900 from the local dealer and they look ok to me.

Which dealer did the winters for £2600, mine quoted £2900 and was not prepared to move on the price.....

Thanks.

Get a quote from BMMiniParts and then get the dealer to match it.

Vines of Gatwick (supplying dealer).

Call and ask for Ian (in sales) and mention Martin with the M5 recommended him.

He can only say no!

Not sure if it's temp or damp or tyres but the traction control flickers till quite a few leptons currently....... wink
