As I travel to Germany frequently I want to have the limiter removed.
Does anyone know where I may be able to have this done?
I don't need to have an increase in the BHP, just the limiter removed.

According to that at 70mph in 7th you'd only be doing 720rpm, which I presume is under tickover...

You can this indicated seed without the limiter removed….but not at those RPM's!

I managed to get an indicated 169 out of my M6 when I took it to Germany a couple of weeks ago and it is simply the most unreal car at that speed - it has a level of directional stability and refinement at that speed like nothing else I've experienced. Oh, it's also at those speeds that the Sport+ steering setting comes into it's own (and is I believe the actual purpose of that setting) - makes the car very easy to control.

In fact, everyone with one of the F-series M cars should get it out on the autobahn to experience just how rapidly and easily it piles on speed at the top end, and how satisfying it is being able to rev the nuts off it through numerous gears (which you can't really do without risking a jail in the UK). Whipping through gears 3-4-5 numerous times, never needing to take your focus off the road because the HUD starts flashing in your line of sight when its time to upshift is what this car really is all about (and when the HUD becomes at it's most useful as you never have to take your eyes of the road to see when to change gear).

It also highlights just how annoying the speed limiter is - it hits 169 a mere few seconds after upshifting to 5th (at about 150) and its still pulling so strongly at that speed that I can't thunk what speed it would eventually stop accelerating at.

I too would like the limiter removed and wish we persuade a BMW dealer to program the official M drivers pack (?) option that gives the 190mph limiter (thereby not putting at risk my warranty on a brand new car).
