Ok so I`ve looked at the onboard manual, but can`t seem to find the way to make things like steering and suspension stay on sport mode each time the car is started up. Non- m1 or m2 mode. It just goes back to everything on comfort/lowest setting everytime the car is started up

Can this be done?

Simple answer: No it can't.

Shame because its a pain having to change each time you start.

I read something about it being necessary to justify the official MPG figures. frown

Take a look at this forum:

I don't know much about it but coding might be able to do what you want. Might be worth posting there?

Just so I understand.....

As you saying for example you're just popping to Tesco and you adjust various settings by the buttons near the gear stick, but not using the steering wheel M buttons

You then get back into the car, start up and everything is back to default?

Not sure if this will cover all settings, but try setting the car up how you like (gear, steering, springs & throttle) & then save the profile to USB or BMW online?

I've only programmed those changes into M1 & M2, but everything else is saved as a Profile & uploaded to BMW online, however it HAS captured my desire to have gear change setting 1 on Auto but i've set mine that as soon as i select Manual it moves to change setting 3, so perhaps if Profile captures & saves gear settings, it may do the same for steering, springs & throttle.

Other settings that profile captures are Climate control, seats & mirrors, preferred Media settings & Nav settings as well as many others. You can have i think it's 3 named profiles as well as a guest profile. Similar in nature to our good friend Microsoft Windows as each profile gets there preferred settings/environment.

you`ve got it

If you`re in m1 or m2 and hold the buttons near the gear stick it remembers the new setting without going back into settings on idrive

Try saving you're desired start up settings via Profiles. It works for transmission settings so i'd be fairly confident it will do the same for steering, throttle & suspensionsmile
