Hi all, I've hunted high and low for a paint code to find out what colour my E46 M3 is?

It's a very dark blue, appearing almost black depending on the light conditions.

Any ideas please?

Regards

Jay

any photos? Carbon black is the only one that springs to mind given your description.

Orient blue more of a purple surely? Struggle to see how that can appear black in any light. I'd be surprised if there were any orient blue E46 M3's out there. I've yet to see one.

My B10 is Orient blue. Can look v close to black. Definitely no purple tinges in it.

if you stand back and in the shade it looks black and when wet you start and see the blue coming out then it is
Carbon Black metallic 416 which is same as mine best colour

Does, doesn't it.

OP, open the bonnet, on the nearside suspension turret you'll find the VIN plate, botton left hand corner of this will tell you the colour. If it is carbon black it'll say 'Carbon Schwarz Metallic'.

If the colour code is not on the car for some reason, they can come off, then just type the last 7 digits of your VIN in here http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html and it will tell you (together will all the factory spec).

I had an Individual Carbon Black 330d. Certainly looks blue in direct sunlight.
