Evening all.
Evening all.

Hoping someone can help.

Took my M5 down to any open RR day this morning and after the moaning an groaning of the chap trying to strap it down and get
it seated on the rollers properly it would only rev to 5500 RPM (in 4th) before it seemed to hit a false rev limiter and dispite 3 runs would do the same each time. Now produced 360 bhp at these revs. Rollers cant be off as plenty of cars before me were fine. Car came off with following warning lights: Traction Control, ABS and Engine Warning. Can understand these as car just done over 100mph standing still. Cant understand the false limiter at 5500rpm!

On the road it pulls hard all the way to redline in 4th.

Have Powerflow Cat back exhaust and air intake kit fitted and wanted to see if all was well, not looking at chipping....

Cheers all

Happy M'ing.

Did you turn the traction control off before doing the dyno run?

If not and you get wheel spin it would cause the T/C to intervene and the DSC to start braking to try to stop the car from crashing.

Just a thought

The ABS fuse has to be pulled to disable the DM.

Error will flick up and limit to 5500, turn ign off, turn on again and it will rev to red line

Really that simple!! there is a way to switch the car into a dyno mode with a decent diagnostic machine but thats a bit long winded if you only need to turn it off then back on again!!

You need to remove fuses 17 and 30 IIRC before putting it on the dyno.
