10W60 still the best oil for a S54 engine?

Any recommendations for what oil is best for the S54 (Z4M and E46 M3) engine?

I was planning on using the standard Catrol Edge 10W60 stuff, but interested in any other suggestions. The car may see 1 or 2 track sessions next year, but it will only do 3000 miles between changes.

It's the only oil BMW endorse for their M cars afaik so I'd just stick with that.

Hi Do NOT use anything other than Castrol 10/60, My E46 M3 SMG has done 141,000 miles on it and it runs like new still, I do change Oil and filter every 15,000 miles its worth the cost.

Definitely just use Edge 10W60 for M engines. I usually change the oil every 7-7.5k miles as leaving it in for 2 years or 15k miles doesn't seem appropriate.

It's a z4m. 56k miles, last oil change was almost year ago and 6k miles ago, so want to change it.
