Clarkson tests M car in today's Sunday Times
Discussion
I might be being thick but I'm very confused.
The car JC reviews today is a 520d, not an M car (nice waftmobile though) so not relevant..... Or the CSLers might come hunting.
Or you're talking about another article.....but you still haven't told us which car it is! M3? M5? M6?
At least give us a link? Although The Times site is pay walled.

Having seen three new M sport cars in M&S food hall carpark today inc. an X5 all replete with M badges on body and then seeing OP query here I have now resolved to get the three original M badges off my Z4MR ASAP.
I'll be content in knowledge that what M capability the roadster has it is where it matters, the mechanicals such a engine, brakes, diff., steering and not 'M'arketing.

No, not exactly. He theoretically chose the ferrari. Not the BMW as you said he did.
He's testing two cars, states that he would choose the ferrari to travel to France in but would regret it...therefore, he regards the M sport as being the better option (probably for the reasons stated above!)ratty6464 said:
Saw a 420d in the dealer's showroom. Even they now have ///M badges on the front wings. really diluting the brand.
The 640d looks really similar to the M6 from the side.
To be fair, an F10 530 M Sport looks the same as my M5 from most angles! The 640d looks really similar to the M6 from the side.
I don't care, I know what I'm driving

If it's a 520d it's hardly an m car!! BMW's m marketing s
t seems to be working
It is M I think, basically it's been tweaked by M Sport but retains the powerful 4pot diesel engine. They actually have more torque than the first M3 and are quicker round the ring as well as having better emissions etc.
t seems to be workingNice cars.
