I'm considering an E93 M3 and wondered what the PH massive thinks are must have options?

In my opinion the ideal extras would be Competition Pack. Ideal extras would be Individual Audio and M Performance exhaust.

Comp pack is desirable but only available on the coupé (e92). Harmon Kardon is great and individual audio is better.

i find front parking sensors handy, and heated seats excellent at this time of year.

Buying new or used? Several threads on EDC with debateable opinions but it's your view that will matter the most really. You need to drive one really, with the roof down and the noise of that V8 its just a great attack on your senses

Coldest I've had the roof down is 7c temp, heated seats on and fan's on full blast!

When I got mine I wasn't really interested in having a certain spec but turned out the one that I finally chose had a great spec on it. Mine has the individual sound system and it's amazing, the bass and quality of music is just on point!

Mine may be up for sale soon on PH,2008 DCT with 39k on the clock in red with black leathers. It's been in my mind a while now which usually ends up with the car being sold..

Ah, forgot Comp Pack is only option on E92... it's great to have as Comp Pack cars normally come fully loaded (EDC standard) and the ride high is very ideal for twisty fun. Mine also come with front (and rear) sensors and heated seats.

The engine sounds so much better in the E93 M3 with the roof down my brother in law has one & when I took him out in my Coupe he thought it was a different engine under the bonnet he thought it sounded pants!

It was a ride out & drive of his with the roof off that prompted me to want a M3 they do sound mint with the roof down that's for sure.

Thought they all come with Xenon's as standard? They seem perfectly fine to me having come from other M car's?

Red leather in my eyes should be with a black bodywork or silver, anything else I'm not to sure on..

EDC, upgraded stereo, front parking sensors.

I think xenons and pro nav are standard, but if not then those too.

For a vert, heated seats are a must have.

IMO

Thanks chaps, the one I am looking at is DCT, has EDC, 19 rims and Logic 7 sound, seems it ticks a lot of boxes. It is advertised as front and rear parking sensors but on the VIN number spec, check it says rear only..

I have had three bmws with front packing sensors but my current one hasn't got them & I miss them tbh...it now means I have to look for what I am going to hit now whereas before it didn't matter!

I find it much easier to actually look where the front of the car is going than rely on the sensors, which will always have a bit of lag to them. Couldn't imagine living without the rear sensors though, but I guess they're pretty much standard nowadays.

I find front sensors very helpful in tight spaces - the carbon splitter is very low in the car.

Yes. but as i said the standard xenons are poor..IMO...dim and not a particularly good spread (BMW having set the beam low doesnt help..and yes they can be adjusted)and certainly worse than those of my prev.RX8, which were - pardon the pun - brilliant. I think it's adaptive lights which is the option (not high beam assist).

the 6yrs i had my RX8 i can count on 1 hand the number of times i had to use high beam to illuminate a road...(ok...so maybe both hands smile). maybe i been spoilt by the xenons of the Rex, but i find the M3's lights woeful.

I agree it isn't wise to rely on them & it did catch me out once, they certainly seem to make you a little complacent & one friend I knew never used to look at all & just relied on the sensors...that's crazy!
