I'm toying with the idea of going to see this early next week.

Has anyone here owned one who can share any thoughts?

At the moment it is all a bit pie in the sky but a few things have rather suddenly gone right at work so I'm tempted to get involved as a half investment* half play thing for the summer months, maybe keep it a few years, who knows.

I've always loved the M1 and am also a red car fan. Obviously that means all angles are covered so I may as well just go and buy it wink

* obviously 'investment' as a fun place to keep money and expect to get most of it back though not the end of the world if I don't.

I guess there is an asset/classic car bubble at the moment. I am sure you are aware of that though.

Maybe think about liquidity? I.e. I guess a car like that could take a while to sell. Dunno.

Other than that, I doubt you are going to get anyone trying to talk you out of it.

Lots of pictures please!

Liquidity is a good point, thanks.

This is a real head scratcher. I like to use all of my cars, often very hard, and this would be one I'd have to keep locked away and only put a few miles on it now and again.

I've got some thinking to do.

Tried one for size a few months back. I'm 6'2" absolutely NO chance of me fitting. Not sure if you could manually move seat hight, but my head was in the roof.
Shame as I've always loved them. I would have thought long term, a good place to put your money.

I had one a few years back... and regret selling frequently.
Not sure I would pay the current asking prices for one....
Dream car would be an up-and-running procar

Definitely not for you then.... I took a ride out in one a few years back, I'm 6ft and overriding memory was how my head was bent over cos it was so small inside.

An M1 in good condition is worth about £200,000.

£200k, wow!

Back in the day, I used to have one. It used to handle brilliantly, was dead reliable and had a pretty decent turn of speed. Google suggests there still quite a few happy owners.....
