After a little advice if possible. My second child is due in May and looks like holidays will be in the uk for the next couple of years. Have no intention of parting with my Frozen E92 M3 coupe but do need more space for holidays as the double buggy will pretty much fill the boot so looking at investing in a roof box. Can anyone recommend the best system for an M3 coupe? Do bmw do one or is it a halfords job? Are roof bars easy to fit? Anyone got any pics of an M3 with a roof box?

Not got a roofbox but have a roof rack and bike bars which fit easily. Looked into BMW one but bought the parts from Thule. You will need Thule 753 Foot Pack, Thule 961 Roof Bars Wing Bars, Thule fitting kit 3039. Think you can check this on the thule website. I bought them on ebay from towequipe.com (towbarman01).

Can't advise on the best system, only what i have:- which is a Thule system (aero bars) and a Thule 600 (narrower). can't say this is the cheapest solution, though.....edit: whichever you choose, go for one with dual side opening.

fitting was pretty straightforward (admittedly it took me longer cos as i was rushing and fitting things the wrong way 'round and had redo...) But once you have done the intial build of the bars taking them on and off is simple. just don't break your rerail flaps (as i did)

don't think i have pics - used mine once since i bought it..over a 1.5yrs ago - but i will check.

oh, and my car is an E90

Holidays: remember, France is just across the water (though depends where you are in the UK, of course)
