It's gone.. Sob

Just waved goodbye to the best BMW I ever owned, my pristine 82,000 mile 2001 M5 that I have owned since 2003. it's gone off to it's new owner who I am assured will pamper it as much as I did. Comfortable, composed and fast and marked as a keeper, unfortunately changing family circumstances meant a change was needed.
Sad day..

What's taking it's place? Hopefully nothing too sensible!!
I still miss my 2002 E39 M5 almost 2 years on.. It was simply a fantastic car so much torque in any gear from any speed sensational, You will be in for a shock when you drive an E90/92! You will wonder where all the torque has gone... You have to really rev them to make them fly, whereas the M5 just flew in any gear at any revs,Just hope you don't regret selling as much as I have.
Just had a call from the new owner telling me how fantastic the car is and how unbelievably good the condition is (he bought it remotely). He was planning to have it detailed and to have paint correction but said that there was nothing to do which was a pleasant surprise for him. His first drive was described as epic.. I didn't really want to hear it
.
Still it is satisfying to know it has gone to a good home..

Commiserations. (It's something I'm sure I'd feel if I ever parted with my Beast.)
There are several on the M5board who sold (good ones) then bought another one quite soon afterwards because of this.
I remember when I sold my old e85, for a fantastically good price because I was feeling a bit fed up with it. He did the same and called me to tell me how delighted he was.
I hated hearing that and wished I'd spent a few quid on resolving the things that made me fed up rather than giving away a gem.
As I say though, you never know what might be next for you

Vary bad news. But hey you never know what other goodies lay around the corner.
I've tried every excuse to replace my car, its not practical, ride's a bit rough, wheels might crack in a pothole etc etc, but I falter at the last second knowing I'll always regret selling it.

been driving my E36 M3 Evo for 7+ yrs now and each winter i think of selling it.
Instead i do some complicated man maths which involves buying a second car to run around in the winter which i subsequently sell in the spring and go back to the M3.
Utterly pointless exercise. My M3 is probably worthless - it's got over 125k on the clock (75k of which i've done) i've written it off once but always fully serviced it and it has never missed a beat.......
