My Replacement (New) F10 M5!!
Discussion
Couldn't think of a suitable title given this is the replacement for my original F10 M5 that i rejected in March.
Firstly the obvious, i'm blown away by how good the colour combo looks & for that reason am kind of glad i got a 2nd chance as although i really loved Singapore/Silverstone, this MCB/Sakhir just feels more suited to the M5 & the Singapore a bit too safe.
Can't really comment on the drive etc. as i already knew what that was like, as will most of you. A few nice touches on the i guess now 2015 model over the 2014 model i did have. Spotted that now in manual you get an upshift indicator in the dash, you also get a digital speedo under the speedo dial which i'm sure wasn't present before. Also when the map is on the screen & you press the iDrive wheel, you get a pop up menu rather than just the extra icons (RTTI/Audio/Status etc.) appearing/disappearing so you can stop Navigation from that point & a couple of other options. Oddly enough the controls also feel slightly different as the Indicator stalk feels more positive & a full indicator illuminate easier as before i often engaged 3 click instead of full. Not much else appears different other than the extra FOC options which i'm very pleased with as the Rear Camera & Surround View work a treat. Not tried the Internet yet but will do soon no doubt & so far have only managed to programme the garage door into the Universal Remote as the gate isn't pairing but i'm hopeful it will.
Off to my local dealer tomorrow to get them to sort out BMW Remote as it's still linked to the old car & thus i can't migrate that to the new car. I'm very happy again & looking forward to racking up the pre run in service miles & then opening her up following that. Took some piccies during collection yesterday again, but not great quality as taken on my iPhone.

Looks good. Here's hoping this time round is trouble free.
The digital speed option can be configured in the Setup menu, pretty sure that's been available for a while.
It's possible as i found it in a menu, however i'd never spotted that option before & i was forever tinkering with the settings in the previous car. I possibly missed it. Seems odd though to have a digital speedo under the regular speedo & then another in the HUD, but hey ho i guess you can never have too many;)The digital speed option can be configured in the Setup menu, pretty sure that's been available for a while.

Lovely and the interior really lifts the inside of the car. I have Sakhir with my Silverstone II and whilst that's at Vines I've got their demo black/black M5 for 48 hours. The black interior is nice, but Sakhir is a much nicer place to be.
I hope this car lives up to expectations, now go and run it in
One comment slightly off topic, has anyone noticed how stone chipped the bottom of the bodywork gets under the drivers doors and also the front lip of the rear bumper? 5500 miles and I'm quite surprised at the state of the bodywork, it's going to be a right mess by 30,000 miles!

Are those 18's or 19's??
They look a bit small for my liking but I expect the benefits in tyres, noise and comfort far outweigh any aesthetic improvements!
Love the colour combo
As someone else said, they're the standard 19" wheels. May be the angle of the photo but they certainly don't look small & more than fill the arches. Personally i prefer the look of the 19's over the optional 20's as they hark back to the E39 & are a darker smoked silver so suit the chrome & gloss black accents on the car well, but looks are down to personal taste. They look a bit small for my liking but I expect the benefits in tyres, noise and comfort far outweigh any aesthetic improvements!

Best colour combo, makes a sleeper look special!!!
Be honest did you regret your original colour combo? That`s why you sabotaged it!! hehe
It's a fair cop guv;)Be honest did you regret your original colour combo? That`s why you sabotaged it!! hehe
Certainly didn't regret the original colour combo, just decided it made more sense to play safe, however the Silverstone leather was already showing unacceptable dye transfer after only 3 months & the car did blend in too well with it's F10 cousins so I decided to man up & it seemed stupid to own the same colour twice.
