Isn't it amazing how you get used to 562hp
Discussion
6 months in and I'm really enjoying the car (in fact the F10 M5 best car I've ever had) but the massive surge of power is lovely but not a shock any more, one could say it's almost taken for granted.
I'm not having a go, I'm simply saying it's amazing how quickly you get used to 562hp

If you were lucky enough to drive say a La Ferrari P1 or 918 as a daily, to a degree, you would probably get used to the sense of occasion and performance.........whats needed is a completely contrasting car and that's where a supermarket run 'shed' or similar comes in so when you next drive your proper car, you never take its virtues for granted......

& there lies the problem which then leads to tuning;)I'm not having a go, I'm simply saying it's amazing how quickly you get used to 562hp

That is so true, Whenever I carry a passenger there is always a comment of sheer speed, when I feel that I have been driving miss daisy. Sometimes you'll see an idiot on the road truly believing it is their driving ability that has kept their car on the road, in the wet on a roundabout as opposed to driver aids, working hard to cancel out the laws of physics and keep the driver alive!
As previously said, imagine putting the same driver in a car from the 80's, with 200-300 BHP but considered at the time to be powerful.

Ive done 15K miles in 6 months in mine on some great roads. I've previously had two cars (one normalish and one TVR) and the good thing about having the one is that you never miss a good road when you are out and about. I've got to know the car and still feeling like every drive is special and regularly press that M2 button for full on race mode. Love it.
The F10 is so refined that it does lull you into thinking that it's not actually a fire-breathing beast, but the moment "M"mode is on, it's a different story. When that happens, I still feel, 2 years in, that it becomes a total hooligan, though the great thing about the car is how controllable it is even when pushed hard. And that amazing sound it makes when you push it transforms the car. I don't think I'd want any more power - more noise might be good, though I think that they've got it about right with the stock exhaust and too much more noise might become tiresome for everyday driving.
Overall, I'm finding the m5 so enjoyable that I rarely bother to take the 911 out for a run these days, which helps keep the 911 feeling a bit special when I do manage to find the time to take it for a Sunday blast, but just shows what an immense car the m5 is.

Just been to Homebase and whilst you do get used to the power, the way cars disappear in the mirror is amazing.
Problem in the UK is by the time you've gone......vvvvuuuuuummmmmm after about 7 seconds you have to stop otherwise you're approaching three figures much quicker than you should, and if you start at say 40mph it's even fewer seconds!
I'm off to Berlin Monday (flying to be fair) but drive their in one of our vans frequently and I'd love to take my car one day (which I will even if it costs me!). Perhaps the government should introduce a speed limit free road somewhere where we can go and enjoy our cars.......now there's a thought

My LCI M5 is great, i'm hoping my M6 GC CP will just that bit better.
Definitely for the older M car driver

I'm sure it will be fun but responding to the previous post, I took a friend out the other week and all she did was giggle the entire time I was showing her just how it went (and stopped!)
That M2 mode is just insane
Met up with a few pals in R35 GT-R's last night so had a little play en route to the Restaurant & it's just mad how quickly the car piles speed on. Also how easily the rear kicks out when MDM is selected which makes me think switching TC off altogether may be a recipe for disaster.
I think they got the sound right, but am glad the car comes with a sunroof so you can further enjoy the bark through tunnels.

I was thinking the same myself although when does the MDM actually catch you as had the tail hanging out a lot and havent noticed it doing any catching yet!
