I've had my car for a couple of weeks now. Great car but I do find my clutch is a bit 'notchy' when changing gears, on some occasions. It doesn't appear to be any particular gear. Has anyone else experienced this or is every change smooth. My clutch is always fully down etc. I'm hoping it will get smoother with more use but don't it's not improving so far.
It probably happens with 20% of changes

Have you considered changing the gear oil?
If you put in something like the Redline D4 Automatic Transmission fluid you will get much slicker gear changes, it is a much thinner viscosity and the gears just glide in. Can be a bit more notchy from a cold start, but after a few changes it is so much nicer.
You will need two bottles of that and will be left with around half a bottle.
Takes 10 minutes to change.

Or go with MTL if you just want all round nicer changes from cold and when warm.

On my Z3 I found a combo of both to work really well, I have around 70% D4 and 30% MTL.
However, not sure if there is anything in the later 'boxes that might not like this. Sometimes if a 'box has so copper and alu next to each other certain oils can cause them to corrode.
So do some research before adding anything.
But the MTL is a great fluid and is fine in your 'box.

Hold on, is it the clutch that is an issue or the gear change?
Is this a new M135i or previous model?
BMW have had serious issues with the clutch and flywheel since mid 2006, but I thought it was sorted from the new models.
Search BMW Clutch judder on google and read the results over the next few weeks!

I think you posted before about "BMW's serious issues with clutch and flywheel since mid 2006" but I am still to come across anyone who has suffered from them on petrol cars.

I said the same, that is was diesels only, but was assured it was all manuals by various owners on e90post that owned manual petrols with the issue. What was the previous model called?
