Couldn't resist a side by side shot as my rejected car was (finally) about to leave the Dealer to be transported down South for sale/auction. BMW must have more money than sense as it's been sat there gathering dust for well over 4 months.

Seeing them side by side, i'm extremely happy i chose MCB & Sakhir for the replacement car as SG with Silverstone leather is more luxury cruiser than hooligan saloon.

Any chance of more details on the rejection?

It's all detailed in here but will be a few pages back by now.

Basically the car went into limp mode twice, throwing up Drivetrain faults. The 1st fix which i had a feeling hadn't resolved the fault was to have the fuel injector replaced on the cylinder throwing up the most faults. A couple of months the same thing happened again at which point the car was rejected. BMW in Germany have confirmed the fault was a contaminated/faulty fuel rail (a few cars have fallen foul to this). Small shards of metal in the fuel rail which then under WOT get dislodged & fired into the injector/s which throws up the fault.

Paul

I assume they have replaced the fuel lines and injectors before sale?

The new one looks much more aggressive - you must have liked the "old man" look when ordering the first one!

Agree on the colour scheme, MCB is fantastic.

No idea & the car has had the fuel rail replaced with the revised part so i would imagine it's as good as new nowsmile

I went for the safer (sleeper option) with the original car but maned up for the replacement.
