Need some help

I need some help / advice, my 2005 E46 M3 cab developed a fault with the roof mechanism this evening, the panel that lifts up to store the roof will not lock into place, everything looks ok, the red indicator light goes out when the roof has finished its movement up or down, but it's not locking into place

Any thoughts or ideas to help fix it would be great
