F10 M5 IN A NICE SHADE OF BROWN SPOTTED IN HONITON
Discussion
Never heard of this pyrite brown before but I have to say it looks very nice in photos: http://www.bmwblog.com/wp-content/uploads/BMW-m4-c...
By the way, does anyone know how many colour options are available on the BMW Individual system? I've noticed each M car seems to have its own Individual colours. An example being the Fire Orange on the M4 that doesn't appear to be available on the M5, but I could be wrong. Incidentally I think it looks stunning: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/attachment.php?at...
I've always thought a light green colour would work well on the M3/M4. Something like this: http://www.bmwblog.com/2013/09/28/bmw-m6-coupe-neo... but I don't even know if that colour is even available or if it's just a BMW internal colour. Any ideas? Can you just swan into a BMW dealer and demand a colour be added (£££) ?

There are several 'levels' of individual.
There are usually a few colours that are advertised as Individual options for each model. Usually choosing these colours does not increase the lead time.
You can have any BMW colour, current or not, for about twice the price (depending on the colour), usually add a month or so to delivery lead time.
You can specify any colour scheme you want, a price will be quoted and you'll probably have to wait an extra 6 months or so for the car.

Ok, thanks. Guess I'll need to venture back to the dealers to get a quote for the Fire Orange.
Incidentally do you know if the colour lineup changes as the car gets older? If you compare the current M3/4 colour range to the M5 there are about 5 less colours.
They change "non-core" colours fairly regularly on the M3...they always have a couple of brighter colours for the M3 that they don't on an M5. Here's hoping... I think the current lineup with exception to the Sakhir Orange is kind of drab on the M3/4. The Austin Yellow turned out to be a real disappointment compared with the concept's "Aurum Dust". Whether that has gone into production or not I'm not sure, I haven't seen it on anything since. The Fire Orange is different enough but what I'm really after is a deep reddy-orange like this: http://www.bmwblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014-BMW... (a photoshop render). Sakhir Orange is too burgundy - at least in photos. In this video it looks pretty orange: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo0HGAFuS5U and I have to, pretty stunning. (I think I'd need to spec it with Ceramic brakes or have them painted, as blue brakes would look slightly silly)
I've looked at all the 'older' red colours like Imola Red, Electric Red, even Valencia Orange but nothing really comes close to it. I think Imola Red is the nearest match http://www.bmwcartuning.com/wp-content/uploads/201... I'm off to the dealers on Friday, hopefully they'll have a list of every single colour available on the Individual programme.

Saw a Sakhir M5 & M6 the other day & although a tad too loud for me, they both looked stunning so i'd be pretty sure the colour would also look good on the M3/4.I've looked at all the 'older' red colours like Imola Red, Electric Red, even Valencia Orange but nothing really comes close to it.
