Guys
Looked at an m5 yesterday with idrive (2007). I thought these had TV tuner as standard? Am I wrong in this assumption? Can it be retrofitted?

I'm 95% sure that TV Function was only ever an option on the E60 M5, as is the case on most cars & is still the case on the F10 M5.

I had it on my E60 M5 & it was ste as you needed to be parked at the top of the TV transmitter to be able to get a TV signal.

Ah, OK. Pity. Sort of a nice to have for sitting in traffic.

My M6 doesn't have it and they usually came full loaded.

It's an option and not that many cars had it.

But like the satnav, it's 10 year old technology and I'm not sure you'd even want it. Also there's the fact that analogue TV signals have now been switched off...

My 2005 M5 has the TV option, but, as stated above, has an analogue tuner, rendering it useless in today's digital world.

The tuner in my 07 car is digital but the video switches off unless the parking brake is activated. I'm sure there's a hack for video in motion but I can't be bothered.

My 2005 645Ci had a TV tuner, it was digital, but the signal was very, very patchy
