Morning all & HNY.

I'm after some recommendations on what Roof bars to acquire for my car & where best to purchase them?

Looking at the roofline it would appear the car can take roof bars? We already have a large Thule roof box that we used on the wife Audi Q5, so ideally i'd like a similar roof bar so we could use this roof box on my car every now & again, but also we'd like to get a cycle carrier that could attach to the roof bars. The wife now has a Mini Countryman & that came complete with roof bars so i'm hoping any that fit my F10 M5 would be able to take the same fitments (roof box & cycle carrier) that her car will?

Thanks in advance.

Nobody using Roof Bars on their F10 M5? No options available? Can the M5 use any roof bar that the F10 range can use?

The M5 uses the same system as any F10.

Hover over the part and click the 'i', it will give you the list of models that use the part, click the + next to the model range and it will list each variant.

Excellent, many thanks.

Are their any non OEM alternatives that you're aware of?

Thule make some I believe, list they are a bit cheaper, but if you haggle with a dealer you should be able to get at least 15% of list maybe more. For the cost on an M5 I'd stick with OEM 'just in case'.

It's a good point. Would just need to be sure the BMW OEM bars would take the THULE roof box we already own & that we know fit onto the wifes Mini Countryman roofbars.

Also that i can find a cycle rack that fits onto both sets of bars. More confusing this roof malarchy than i'd have expected.

Found that Thule did their new Aero Bars with fitments for the F10 so have ordered those (they'll definitely accept the the large roof box we bought last year) & also ordered 2 cycle carriers that will take either Road or ATB bikes complete (no need to remove the front wheels). Very happy as they now offer an all black bar which against the MCB should be more ascetically pleasing & the whole lot for just over £300.
