E36 m3 evo idling problem

Hi all

Can any one help me out
I have a 1996 m3 evo, when I can the car sometime she idles fine then after
awhile starts to run rough. After heating up I rev her abit and she runs smoothly
then after awhile starts to run rough.
Any suggestion on where to start?

Try some injector cleaner first

Start by reading the codes. I'd put money on it being a Vanos solenoid.

Definitely get it on a diagnostic, but add a possible air leak to the list - perished hose under the airbox or similar. Probably not the MAF, but worth checking that too.

A failing exhaust camshaft solenoid valve within the Vanos.

I had mine diagnosed.

2 lambda sensors and an air leak from the air box I believe.

Get it on the diagnostic machine.
