List of pre reg M4s
Discussion
Just had a test drive in a M4, loved it and the other half felt the same, after initially saying what's better than this car (m135i).
Having been reading on here and looking at deals previously done, the dealer was only looking at a maximum of £5.5k off a new car. Is this good or bad?
Is there a list of pre-reg cars around the UK in dealers?
If so, please let me know. Looking for a HUD, LEDs and that's it
Thanks

Has anyone tried a manual version as yet. Keep hearing about the double clutch being great etc but the one thing that would potentially shift me back into an M3 from my C63 would be the choice of having a manual box. In the long run something tells me the manual boxes will hold value best because of the rarity and driver involvement.
Some dealers will list their pre-reg stock online. For example:

However the majority don't.
Perhaps there is an email list going around?

Dealers have access to a computer system which will show new pre-registered cars at all the dealers I believe...will also show new cars that other daelers have in stock that have not been sold. I think an AUC search only shows cars once they are three or four months old.
A good salesperson should do a lot of the work for you....trouble is if they have to source the car from another dealership (even possibly in the same group) you will have two dealaers wanting to make money.
The best way is to get on the phone.
BMW and their dealers don't like to make it easy for people to buy new cars...they like you to go to your local dealer...which is why they tend to be owned by the dealer groups in geographical clusters. In the US because of how people buy cars over there dealers list their new inventory on the web alongside AUC cars.

If you were to call customer services and let them know you were after a specific car they could let you know if there is one within the retailer network stock and which retailer has it.A good salesperson should do a lot of the work for you....trouble is if they have to source the car from another dealership (even possibly in the same group) you will have two dealaers wanting to make money.

I was at my local dealer (Lloyd colne) today they had the following in stock:
2 x M3 (White and Blue)
1 x M4 (Yas marina)
2 x M4 convertible (black and Austin yellow)
All brand new and unregistered, if that is reflected across the network then there are deals to be done.
They had a beautiful dark blue M3 with individual full leather and loads of options looked superb.

Someone posted an invoice scan on M3Cutters late last year, they got 18% off list on a pre-reg. If it were me I'd be looking for 20% off now. It can most definitely be done, I got 15% off last month on a non pre-reg.
£5k off is about the usual "through the door" discount that they offer to anyone who wants a factory order.
"Hitting the phones" isn't really going to be sufficient if you want the larger discounts and is extremely poor advice if you are looking to buy now. You need to go round to each dealer, sit down and play them off against each other, with a view to signing on the dotted line then and there. Anything else and they just won't offer you those sorts of discounts as they won't think you're genuine.
In my opinion.

A local dealer had a M4 in the showroom last week advertised with a £5k discount, the salesmen then went on to say they were selling really well, which seemed at odds with the advertised discount. A low(ish) volume, new model wouldn't be sold with 10/15/20% discounts if it was selling like hot cakes imo, the amount of cars readily available mentioned on here would suggest they are not selling well. I'd be seriously tempted if I could get 20% off.
