M5 deals - advice sort pls
Discussion
Guys, need some advice please.
I'm aware back in late 2013 BMW were giving these babies away (!), so keen to establish how good the current offers are relative to that.
Peter Vardy are offering 0%, 8k miles, £598 over 48 months with £7k deposit on a standard car. How does this sound? Those of you who bought back in 2013, how much deposit were you putting down?
And what are the consequences of 48 month contracts? I guess the old deals were on 36 months? Any implications of this?
Any input gratefully received, thanks in advance.

Looking at old threads I think most were offered around £600 a month, but I guess with a smaller deposit than £7k, and I guess a shorter term (24/36 months) rather than 48 months?
Most dealers I've spoken to aren't getting close to the Peter Vardy deal!
£499 inc, with £7k over 24 months sounds exceptional!! Was this the norm back in 2013? If so no wonder it was jumped on!

There is a thread on here that dates to around that time. I contributed to it quite alot as I was in the a market for an M5 but the finance company messed me around so I got a C63 AMG instead which had a technical fault so I got my money back on that and got an E63 M6 instead. Most dealers I've spoken to aren't getting close to the Peter Vardy deal!

Ring Gary or Howard at Sandal Huddersfield. They were the people I dealt with at the time. They may or may not be able to match the deal again.

Did they mess you around because they'd made a mistake with the price !? I guess if you drop the deposit back down by say £100 over 24 months then you are at say £599 inc. VAT and a £4,600 deposit which sounds more familiar..... I thought the best deals back then were leases but 0% implies PCP or something of that nature.Ring Gary or Howard at Sandal Huddersfield. The issue was that I was 27 years old at the time and they thought I was too young to afford it. I didn't have a mortgage so they must have thought "where is he getting the money from?". I was a business director and showed my personal income, company tax returns etc etc and it still was not good enough even though I could have bought the car outright. When they let me know that there was a problem with finance, rather than beg and grovel, I just went up to the road to Mercedes and within 20 minutes all was approved.
Just a shame the C63 turned out to be a piece of sh*t.
The best deals back then were indeed lease with Business deals being slightly better.
Best available deals were a car with no options, with low annual miles of i think 8k per annum & these were 6+23 at £499 plus vat. I opted for 3 + 35, a few options on the car & 13k miles per annum & got £575 +VAT per month.
When i rejected the 1st car, BMW UK had to subsidise the deal on the replacement carl in May 14 by just over £7k to get to the same monthly figures so that's the delta between the deal available in Aug/Sept 13 - April/May 14.

Best lease I've seen recently is this one:Best available deals were a car with no options, with low annual miles of i think 8k per annum & these were 6+23 at £499 plus vat. I opted for 3 + 35, a few options on the car & 13k miles per annum & got £575 +VAT per month.

That's pretty good as is only £72 per month more expensive than the 2013 deals. Still 41 x £72 is the best part of £3k more over the term but still better than they have been.http://www.easternwesternfleetservices.co.uk/busin...

Thanks for the advice everyone, very much appreciated. After much deliberation I've bottled it...
As tempting as it is to run a brand new M5, I just can't justify £21k over 2 years to run 16k miles, even in an M5.
Going to consider an older alternative car and buy when the lion share of the depreciation has taken place.

Try justifying it when you do a few miles each way to a train station and would be leaving it sat there all day As tempting as it is to run a brand new M5, I just can't justify £21k over 2 years to run 16k miles, even in an M5.
