Hi Guys

Wanted to know how long it takes for a new clutch to set in. Driving around very smooth no problems just doesn't feel the same.. Also 3rd gear doesn't seem as quick. Ok only drivin about 20miles....

Have you reset the gearbox?
Google will tell you how to do this.

As soon as I picked mine up, it was 100000% better than before. I think there is a bite point check done at every gear to set it.

If no, just do the following

Drive upto 50mph, knock lever into Neutral and pull both paddles back for 5 seconds. That resets the clutch too.

After my clutch replacement standing starts and shifts were so much smoother that it made the car seems slower somehow. Just an illusion though!

Much like "bedding in" brakes, a clutch needs time to wear in properly to raise the friction coefficient to what you were likely used to. This is the reason the clutch "kiss" point should be reset after a couple of thousand miles on a new clutch. As the clutch wears in, the old kiss point value (which is derived from friction during the adaptation process) doesn't make the "feel" quite right.

Just have the full SMG adaptation routine done again with ISTA/DIS/INPA and all will feel better.

Three difference variants of BMW diagnostic software. Each can be used to run the poorly named SMG "adaptation" process. It should read "calibration" instead since there isn't a damn thing that "adapts" in the transmission.
