Just done a little comparison on a E90 saloon M3 (DCT) v C63

Similar spec, same mileage on an 2011 plate and the results are about £10k apart with the C63 being the much more expensive car according to Glass's?

This doesn't reflect the market prices being advertised on PH and on Autotrader with cars of similar spec, age and mileage being very similar in price - any ideas as to why this is?

None of the traders I know use glasses guide to price their cars, they price them on the market and buy/sell according to that.

e90's are rare if your issue is you think you should get one for 10k under a c63 saloon of the same age.

The rarity of the E90 M3 will keep the price closer to the C63 but M3 vs C63 the C63 seems to hold a slight price premium

At a guess..

Bet there are far fewer c63 on the roads.
Plus the c63 engine is a peach.

Never understood the point of the Glass guide - it's always wrong compared to the market.

I would imagine that the ratio is 10-1 in favour of the e90 (4 door) far fewer sold than the c63, if I've read it right the OP is saying the e90 should be 10k cheaper but isn't.

There are actually a LOT more used C63's than E90 M3's (although finding a C63 post '11 with an LSD is like trying to find a needle in a haystack)

Glass's guide is just miles out is all I think

Glasses guide is just that a "guide"....without market knowledge as well, on specialist cars its worse than useless.
