E92 M3 Carbon Roof
Discussion
I recently purchased AUC E92 M3, prior to purchase I inspected the roof, no issues found. Washed the car and on the fourth occasion found perfectly formed 3mm holes in what I can only assume is the clear coat on the roof down to the CF.
I've not heard anything strike the car whilst driving it, and it lives in the garage when not in use, is this going to lead to big problems, is there a repair for this, would this be covered by my AUC warranty?
Your Knowledge and assistance would be very welcome

I had a major wobbler on a similar issue recently. My new M3 got a really bad stone chip that went all the way through the gel coat to the carbon laminate. Thought it was buggered but I took it to a local recommended body repair specialist who:
1) Removed lacquer from top of gel coat
2) Filled and polished the offending hole in the gel coat
3) Re-lacquered roof
4) Looks like new!
Root cause for it looking as bad as it does: the lacquer had degraded so much in sunlight it became very brittle. I could actually pull it straight off the gel coat like a sunburn!

So to answer the question on repairability - yes it is very repairable. Whether or not it's AUC-covered? I'd have thought so.

Good news, BMW are putting their hand in their pocket for this one according to customer services this afternoon, "just go back to where you purchased the car or your local dealer" I have to commend BMW for this as being the right attitude and approach towards their customers, this cements brand loyalty.
Only problem being local BMW dealers service department had no idea what I was talking about ?
Thought I'd make it easy and explain in writing, even attach a photograph or two, something quite common in the way the rest of the world conducts business, but according to their receptionist I can only speak to them, so I can only assume service department either does not have an email address (doubtful) or they don't give it out?
