e92 m3 1/4 times
Discussion
anyone tried their car? took my e92 to run what ya brung at santapod today and think the time was a bit on the slow side vs what I see quoted
did the 1/4 in 13.7 @ 108.3mph, the 0-60ft took 2.9
was with a friend who ran a stock 2013 GTR in 11.4 which is more in line with reported times
now I know the E92 is not the best drag car but was curious to see what it would do. was surprised at the number of modified cars at santa pod, v interesting day

That looks very slow, especially your 60ft time.
I normally do the 1/4 mile in my Ariel Atom, but just for fun I took my E93 (heavier so should be slower than an E92) along to Crail one day just to see what it could do.
13.2s @ 110mph with a 60ft of 2.2s
At Santapod, which has a much better surface than Crail, I would expect you to be running mid to high 12s......but the trick is in the launch!

Yes think you are right in the launch I used launch control for the first time thinking would be the ideal time to try it
Turns out after going some reading the m3 launch is not designed to get you off the make as fast as possible (like the GTR), it allows the details to dump clutch manually
So if you floor it will simply spin wheels and while a drag strip has great traction once you break it its harder to get back than tarmac
So hence the terrible start while my gtr friend only had to floor it to the finish

That's the GT-R's tour de force so very little stock will out 1/4 mile it i'm afraid. I'd say low 13's is about right, with the chance of a very high 12 if you get everything perfect. The sole reason i don't bother with 1/4 mile & just focus on track days as the planets need to line up to get a cracking run (unless you're in a GT-R or 991 Turbo) & if anything isn't perfect it's a long wait to try again.Turns out after going some reading the m3 launch is not designed to get you off the make as fast as possible (like the GTR), it allows the details to dump clutch manually
