So driving home a few minutes ago my nav screen decides it's time to mess about. So it starts off by flickering, then sliding in and out and then showing a message saying that it has got too hot.

I had no control over the screen. I turned the car off and back on again and it still did it. Left it off for a bit longer and it seems OK?

16:9 screen, mk4 nav and intravee. Wtf is going on?

Just to add, the voltage is 13.5-13.6v when the car is running. At rest it was around 11.7v after being left for 30 or so minutes

I've seen this before but I don't think anyone got to a definitive cause.

I believe the solution in previous instances I've heard about was to disconnect the nav computer, TV module and radio module for a while, something like overnight, then connect it all up again.

If you still have a Traffic Master system, now would be a good time to remove it!

Thanks Richard, you're the second person to suggest that. I am going to do it tomorrow as I'm working at the moment and its raining lol.

No TM system either thankfully! At least I dont think so - theres no button where the cup holders are for it.
