First M car bought in winter!
Discussion
I've just got an e92 m3 and I'm desperate to go for a nice drive somewhere! I have quite a long commute in it every day but it's generally motorway and the weather has been terrible recently. I got my first taste of fun on a short stretch of A road on a dry afternoon but other than that I've driven it slower than my old diesel. Any attempt at more just has the wheels spinning! I can't wait for spring and some good drives! Anyone else found themselves in the same position?!?
Tyres, tyres, tyres!! That is all!!
Having had 8 M3s over the years, from E36, E46 to E92/3s, the biggest issue with these cars in the damp, cold wet conditions is inferior tyres and a heavy right foot. Drive to the conditions and there will be no issue, and always put the best tyres on that you can afford. Personally, it's something I have never scrimped on, as these 4 bits of rubber is all that's between you and the road/ditch/hospital (delete as appropriate!!

The op was more of an attempt to say it's gutting not being able to feel much of the cars potential due to driving to the conditions. There was a brief mention of wheel spin to demonstrate that the conditions were poor.
Congrats on the new car, you'll love it, I know what you meant hence the picture of the day I picked mine up, many on here have zero reading comprehension or choose not to have. The bonus about these conditions is it'll go sideways very easily and that's fun.
Yes it's very frustrating.
Got mine delivered in October got the running in service done 3 weeks later and seems to have rained ever since!
Got it detailed last Tuesday and now I really don't want to drive it anything but dry weather. But it's not shy of rain here in Carlisle !
Should have bought a boat
