M6 CCC Repair Recommendations

Have a lovely 2006 M6 with 67k miles which has just developed problems with the CCC on the satellite navigation. Some new noises when reading the disk, slow to start up and occasional non-functioning.

Would like to get a recommendation for a CCC repair shop from those who have been through similar experience.

I am at the bottom of the M40 so London and Home Counties would be best for me.

just thought id point out that theres quite a few companies selling cic or nbt retrofit kits for the 6 series which might be worth looking into as itd give the car a modern feel to it

I did the eBay search and as you say pick up a number of 2nd hand units. The satellite navigation is driven off the DVD so assuming these used units have life on the clock, the potential for a failure similar to what I'm experiencing is high. So have discounted retrofitting a unit from a breker.

My preferred option is to repair and replace the DVD drive (assuming this is the fault) so that the car can remain 100% original.

Upgrade to CIC has some interest and would only do as a 2nd option. Happy to hear of others experience and recommended players.

Try Cartronix in West Byfleet, Surrey. They do repairs by post if you don't fancy a drive.

Disc isnt scratched etc? I had this problem on my 130i where it wasn't reading the disc properly. Made another copy of it and it worked spot on.

Check with bmw as I believe the nav drive is only around £100 now for the part itself.
