anybody know of good indi for any work that i need doing & maybe i need to get new car checked for any issues ? it has full BMWSH so should i get all work done there or just keep service at the stealer ?
also can anyone tell me when you put all settings in gearbox computer etc , do they default back to factory every time you turn off or stay where you left them ?
Or BIG favor anyone on here within 20 min drive that i could come to to show me ? not much of an instruction guy really ???

Without doubt, talk to Sean at Iridium engineering just outside Southampton. Knows M cars inside out (think he had 3 including an E60 M5), and there's absolutely no bull5hit. I take both my M3 and X3 to him, and in fact won't take them anywhere else now. He always seems to have cars in that have beaten other garages too. Well worth the trip from Pompey imo.

Congrats on the M6 btw, it's a future upgrade for me I think, the V10 calls to me!

Another vote for Sean at Iridium (off Allington Lane, West End) - he's a good guy and certainly knows his stuff.

Yep, I take my Z4MC down to him from SW London. I would definitely recommend

Snows is actually pretty good - at last count they had 3 M trained master techs.

Sean at Iridium gets my vote. Had my E36 M3 service 2 at BMW. Few weeks later a spring went to took it to Iridium on the recommendation of other forums. Sean spotted so many issues which BMW didn't spot - Sean had to heli-coil 3 of the bolts which BMW over tightened and also had to replace my radiator since it was so severely bowed (it was quite old).

All things which should have been spotted at BMW - I only take the M2 there now and my 330i goes there as well.

Better still every time I've been they clean the car, inside out and engine as well - I keep my cars clean but this is a bonus as well.

Regards

Alex

Another vote for Iridium from me. I drive all the way from Reading to have Sean service my M3. He also did a cracking subframe reinforcement job for me after spotting the usual cracks which BMW 'couldn't see'.
