Oil leak - think today is going to be expensive.

noticed a bit of Oil around the top of the drivers side of my M3's engine earlier in the week - thought it was the common Valve cover gasket. got it booked in to be done today.

took the car out last night and noticed a constant trail of oil running away from the car after i'd parked. moved the car backwards and there was a small puddle of oil under the car - it had only been still for 30 seconds.

turned off car (no lights, rough running etc) and i'll be on the phone to the local Indy at 9am.

im thinking it might be the Plug on the rear of the engine - but it seemed a bit too constant for that.

any other thoughts?

Good luck - my M3 is currently in with my mechanic, he's spotted an oil leak too. We think it might be the Vanos oil line.

Loose chain tensioner.

No terminal damage. Job done.
