Hi all, I read last year about a remap and airbox upgrade without going to the full CSL box a At around 2k. It seems the Alpha map has limitations and not totally smooth, whereas the CSL map for a standard M3 works well. Anyone have direct experience of this. I'm looking for a better induction roar and better pull at the top end. Thanks

I believe Evolve had an alternative airbox to their CSL, which had a better sound but not really the performance gains of the box. Best bet is to call them direct

The Karbonious air box available over on Cutters would seem to give the best bang for buck, and you can also source the csl software over there. The AlphaN is rubbish I had it and ruined the car, the CSL with rev matching is spot on as a friend changed over to it and said it was an absolute revelation having wasted about 1k trying to fix supposed faults with his car to cure the low down hicup.

I had one of the evolve eventuri boxes, nice for a few months but quickly got bored and sold it on. Not a patch on the full airbox in my opinion and not exactly cheap at £600. There have been significant variances in power loss/gains reported with the eventuris too.

Full carbon airbox or don't bother imo.

There are many hundreds of people who are perfectly happy with AlphaN, however there are just some cars which exhibit strange hiccups. This is also the same with some people running CSL clones too, just head over to the M3Forum and you'll see for yourself.

I run an Evolve airbox with a clone CSL ECU with a custom tune and it's awesome smile

Evolve or Frank Smith (TTFS) would be where my money went for a tune.
