Seems a bit early, but not unheard of. What's it doing?
As for gear ratio changes, the SMG/DME will handle 3.91 without problem, but if you opt for 4.10 you will need a DME tune by someone who knows what they're doing as the wheel speed input sensor from the right rear wheel will be giving false fast signals to the DME and the SMG will not shift properly.

Thanks for the info. Current symptoms are the usual rubbing sounds when making a tight turn but seems to be getting
louder ? I can silence it a bit bit driving in circles both ways but it seems to be coming back much sooner now. Having it
refilled with the friction modifier Today so will see how it goes before making a decision on a change. Would be nice to know
if the 3.9 diff makes a worthwhile improvement to acceleration as top end speed here in the UK is not important.
