Old E39 M5 ecu software.

I've just been told that my 2001 M5 has a pretty old software revision on the ecu / dme.

Is there anything that I could be missing? Are the newer revisions better overall?

How can I get a later revision?

We need to set you up with WinKFP, then we can take you up to the latest version for your hardware.

if it aint broke why fix it? I cannot imagine there will be any significant or noticeable benefit but happy to be proven wrong.

I had to update it to get it to work with an obd2 wifi dongle I wanted to use. Be careful as it will blat any aftermarket tune you have also. I got mine done at a local indy that had autologic system.

I have a stock tune at the moment.

Buy a cable from Jimmy @ cable shack, it'll come with INPA, DIS and WinKFP, then you can do it yourself.
