Hi
I have the latest face lifted m135i. Just driving on the normal crap British roads I've buckled all 4 wheels in 4months. I also have the adaptive m suspension that is so agressive it pushes the wheels down so hard into cracks and bumps I'm suspecting this is the cause of the wheel damage. It feels like your spine is going to shatter and the chassis also ! Thoughts or experience guys?

How old is it? Does it feel like there is no give in the suspension at all and ur literally bouncing down the road the whole time?

It's a 65 plate. Basically 6 months old. It's fine on smooth Tarmac and cornering but any undulations or a crack in the Tarmac or a drainage cover and bang! The whole car feels like it's bottomed out (which it obviously hasn't)

Do you have the run flats? It's an option on M135s.

I came from an E93 335i with RF on 19s. I had 3 cracked alloys in 2 years, and bone jarring ride! It almost put me off buying another MSport BMW. However my new facelift M135 with Adaptive Suspension and normal tyres is really good - and we have some very poor roads around here. I'm on my second car in 4 months and both have been equally good, and a huge improvement over my old 335.

Something doesn't sound right with your setup - get it checked.

Maybe it's the adaptive suspension?

My new 135 is a lot softer then my outgoing e91 330.

I'm sure if the wheels have bucked they're a warranty item at this age?

OP's car is also Adaptive. Maybe he's permanently in Sport mode smile
Saying that, even in Sport mode, mine is a softer ride than my 335 on RFTs.

I have covered 8,000 from new in my LCI M135i on passive dampers and no buckled wheels despite accidentally hitting a couple of potholes.

My LCI M135i with adaptive has a really nice ride, really smooth even over rutted roads.

If you are in comfort mode then the suspension will be in the soft setting, if you are in Sport/Sport+ you can change the suspension between soft or hard in the idrive settings. I did have mine in hard on this but have also changed this to soft now as the roads are that rutted from winter!!

The transport blocks arent left in are they?!!!! Not unheard of.

Transport blocks were my guess too, pull up the dust covers on ur shock absorbers and check for some plastic discs - there shouldn't be any

14k miles in my 2015 M135i LCI with adaptive. About a third of miles on bumpy B roads and no buckling as yet, I do use the soft setting on anything other than smooth A roads.

Hi guys. Update.
My BMW dealer has agreed there is a supension issue with my 6month old m adaptive system and therefore the four buckled wheels will be falling into this remitt. Unsure what there solution will be as of yet as only discovered yesterday. So I'll keep you posted. Thanks for all your ideas and input
Cheers guys

As everyone else says i've got adaptive on mine and in comfort its a lovely smooth ride, the wheels are pretty widely reported as cheap crap though. Soft and the paint finish is usually suspect.

great news EloisaT!!!.. I had the Goodyear RFT's on my previous MSport and even they weren't that bad... I've now got an LCI M135i with the Michelen Super Sports and non adaptive M Sport suspension and even on the incredibly poor roads around here - it's a great ride and a fantastic step up from the M Sport suspension on my last car with the RT's (despite the massive leap forward in their improvement!)
