Well personally, dont think the M2 is worth 'over list price' as at some point prices will just drop off once supply increases a little, its not like the M2 is Ltd edition (of 500) like the 1M, so this could well be short lived over pricing (in my opinion)

I would probably look towards a 'less than a year old' M4....and pay £10K less than those new available supply M2's and £20K less than a new M4 job done :-)

Currently for sale on autotrader is a 2K mile, 15 plate M4 for £44860 @ coopers reading....a relative bargain compared to new list and available M2 over pricing..

P.S - Did you not like the RS5 after such a short time owning it?

Thanks for your thorts mate! only thinking of buying new because I like to know the car im buying has not bean thrashed" did go to look at 2nd hand m4 at rybrook bmw with only 5k miles and 1 elderly owner" So was told! Went back home to think about car and when was on youtube on the night looking at m4 reviews! Saw that same reg m4 being thrashed against rs5 on track test and in Switzerland being thrashed!

just cannot trust dealers"

the audi rs5 is good for most parts!

good) interior is top notch" better than bmw id say!
that 4.2 v8 sound just puts smile on face
looks very sleek"

not so good) really got to get the audi going to be quick! not got that turbo torq!
really heavy on the fuel" on par with the c63 amg I had before audi"
its a 13 plate with 25k on clock

Agreed on the dealers, they literally will say anything needed to get that sale. I suppose my only lean towards the used ones is saving on depreciation, i'm not sure i could pay list when they drop so quick even under a year old.

The M2 is a stunning looking car, not sure it quite has the appeal of the 1M though, limited colours including the loss of that nice valencia orange, shame. Athough the Long Beach blue is awesome. I think its cheeky to be asking more than list, so if i had to choose on a new one right now, i'd go new M4 and haggle out a discount, or a PCP deal of some sort.

I was looking yesterday and on the PCP with discounts M4 comes out around similar money (APR lower as well) than the M2, so its a tricky purchase the M2.

I still struggle with the lack of the N/A engines like your RS5 V8, and find the turbo cars a little underwhelming noice wise, cant fault the point to point and power/torque though!! and must say the Audi interiors are better than the new BMW ones.

Bet you miss the noise of that v8 AMG!

Hope you manage to decide, and enjoy whichever you buy, good luck shopping

You'd be insane to pay list price on an M4, there's sizeable discounts to be had.. and even if it requires you buying through PCP, double check, but I'm sure there are no penalties for taking advantage of any finance incentives offered and then once the agreement is in place, paying it off if you have the cash sitting to buy a car outright.

Out of the two cars mentioned, I'd buy the M4 Comp Pack... unless you change your car quickly, where you could hammer out a good deal on buying an M2 and then pass it on with minimal losses once you've had your fun.

Cheers,
Grant

I agree with Grant i.e. M4 with Competition Pack.

Whilst the M2 is cool, there is no way I'd pay over list price for it.

Agreed, go for the M4, there's a lot less 'noise' for the M2 since it got beat by the Focus in the recent Autocar twin test, lol

Im buying car cash as cannot have finance" so dealers don't really do cash deals as make there money on finaces"

Will I lose more money if buying a new bmw m4 without comp pack as not that kean on wheels and don't wont a really firm ride!

iv bean offerd a new bmw m4 in showroom that's up for £64.500 with options" for £61.000 and said they would add m-performance carbon parts for that money!

good deal or not?

Terrible deal!

I would be wanting that car for £52.5k (based on the carbon bits not being added) or there abouts.

From what I heard he'd done his entire allocation for the year so you'd need to look elsewhere. I didn't get quite what TRL was offering but I was very happy nonetheless. Circa 15% discount, you'll only get to the bigger numbers if you're prepared to sign there and then.

Some good deals on M4's at the minute on a PCP. Competition Pack M4 is very close to M2 on a deal so well worth exploring.
