Just been on a 2000 mile Roadtrip through Belgium, Holland, Germany, Switzetland, over Gotthard Pass and into Italy. Stayed on lake Como for a week then drove back through Switzerland and France on way back.
The E60 M5 didn't miss a beat. Can't think of s better car to take. It even averaged ov 25 mpg on some days.

A few people using their E60/61 M5's for driving holidays around Europe lately. Glad you had a great time with trouble free motoring. I will be taking my E60 M5 to France in August and clocking up about a thousand miles but would of rather taken the wife's 16 plate Golf GTI if I'm honest but that is too small for 4 people and all the luggage. My wife doesn't like driving my M5 so looks like I'll be doing all the driving!
I think an F10 M5 would be a much better car for a long road trip due to the fuel economy being better and the more relaxed power delivery of the the V8.
