Either the Aircon in an M4 is useless or mine is busted. Just driven for an hour and a half with it set to 16c at Max blower and it did virtually nothing - I was a sweaty mess ! Lots of noise from the blower but not much force to the air output or chill.

Is the Aircon any good on these cars ? Surely just setting it to auto and 16c should make it cold within 10 mins ?

What are they normally like ? Thanks all.

Definitely not right. It is definitely switched on?

Is it worse than in the past?

Good point about it being on.

Unlike mercedes and some others where the climate uses the ac all the time.
Bmw you have to have the snow flake button on for ac

Thanks for the replies.

Maybe it was user error as I tried it again last night and this am and it was fine. A bit weird though as I stopped yesterday consulted the manual and still could not get it to work.

I thought maybe I had the button pressed that re circulates air from the inside of the car (or filters the air) but that one comes on if you press the Max button so not sure what I did...

Hopefully all good now.

I appreciate you car is a little newer (and probably slower wink)but it is possible to change the master ventilation to max heat in the idrive on the E63 such that no matter how cold the dial is set in the car you wont get any cold air. This can be done by accident when you're having a fiddle round a new cars systems and makes you feel a right dick when you take it back to the dealer.

Ask me how I know paperbag
