Intermittent M Button on E63 M6

Hi M Team. The M button on my steering wheel operates intermittently. Has anyone else had a similar issue and how did you resolve it?

Its not just the switch on the steering wheel that's faulty is it?

I don't think so as we have run it over the diagnostics and which shows the number of times the switch has been activated and the request not fulfilled. Weirdly it is like the steering wheel needs to warm up as the lower half of the buttons on the wheel work, so you can decrease volume but not increase or the star button works but not the M, and then the uppper ones then come on stream. It is a bit weird and I was just wondering if anyone else had had a similar issue.

I use M mode all the time supposedly better for the clutch. If the M button doesn't work I seem to recall you can assign the (any) function to the "choose what you want it for" button near it (star?). Not sure if the M function is assignable even so maybe talking complete bks again
