Will be interested to read your thoughts. I tested an M6 coupe last weekend - seemed very competent, but it didn't sound like a V8 to my ears. Loud yes, good no...

For a car that was £104k new I was disappointed. Yes it was a bit better than my 640i but didn't make me feel as special as other things I've driven. Not for me.

List price v actual price paid are 2 very different things.

A 640i v M6 is worlds apart.
M6 romps to 100mph in well under 8 seconds

640i is 172bhp/tonne
M6 is 307bhp/tonne

If you cannot detect the savage difference maybe it was in limp mode?

No problem spotting the improved acceleration, enjoyed adjusting all the inputs, just unimpressed with the whole package.

Echoes my thoughts on driving an M6 coupe last weekend, although I do keep thinking "maybe...". It's a nice, quick car that hides its speed very well, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra running costs and purchase price over a 650. Trying one of those tomorrow, so I should have my answer then!
