Removing Speed limiter

May have been discussed before, but is it possible to remove the speed limiter and still retain the std map ?

Hartge did it for me years ago when I picked up my E63 M6. Car was new. There were two limiters in the software. One at 250 km/h and a far more difficult one at 305km/h. Mapping was standard.
However if the dealer does any kind of update it can restore the limiters.
