Newbie here
My kids have finally grown up and I can stretch my legs and get a less family orientated car.

I'm considering buying a 2013 BMW M3 E93 Convertible from a main dealer. Purely for their warranty plus I can purchase a servicing pack as I tend to keep my cars for a minimum of 3years.

I think the M purists will say it's not a proper M3, it's got a heavy roof but I'm unlikely to track the car, I like the idea of having the M3 styling black/red and performance but the option of having the rooftop down during the summer so it seems like a sensible choice.

I'm looking at the top end of the market of a e93 M3, it won't necessarily affect my decision but what kind of market does it have come resale and given the car is advertised round £30k and around 4yrs old, has majority of the depreciation occurred? I expect some but not enormous amounts.

Thoughts?

Go for it.

You'll have one of the best warranties out there, plus values have remained stable for the e92/93 model M3s over the last five years or so, perhaps even creeping up a little.

A mate recently sold a low miles early E93 and never once complained about the roof. And besides you still have access to that incredible engine.

Having spent a fair amount of time in it last summer roof down means you can hear the engine even more, and even without the exhaust mod it really is quite something!

I will be honest.

If I bought an M3 E9x it would either be a DCT more door or a drop top.

If the scuttle shake is less than the E46 I reckon I could live with it. Having all that sky with the engine note just makes things lovely!
