Diagnostic tool recommendations

Any recommendations for a diagnostic trouble code reader. Friend has a basic one that only does Engine, but I'd like to do other systems as well. Airbag, ABS etc Doesn't have to be all singing all dancing, just read faults and clear them.

IMHO INPA.

Alot of the cheaper ones will connect but not read the codes despite the dashboard saying otherwise.
