Hi guys, hoping to finalise a deal for an M4 tomorrow. Not sure if there will be much more room for negotiation on price so was wondering if people have managed to get anything like alloy insurance or any other extras like that thrown in to sweeten the deal?

Sweetners I've been offered on the old E46 M3 :-
Paint protection FOC
GAP 50% off
The latter probably not so good in your case as plenty of companies will cover newer cars; better for me with an old car wink
I've seen approved used deals with an extra years warranty , that's a good one.

Thanks, the car is early 2016, will there have been software updates that I should check have been done etc as I've read various things about software updates to cars but not sure when the age cut off it. thanks

I don't know what the M4 needs but that's a very good point.

When I bought my 335i, the dealership were outstanding and yet they didn't know there were updates ; it was only after an incident when I hit a rock in the road and destroyed the DCT gearbox that during car's stay at my local dealership I had a whole host of updates because the car whilst plugged into the dealer system 'asked' for them. My understanding was that had I asked, they wouldn't have been free of charge.

There's an F80 section here, if no one on Pistonheads answers in time. The thread does talk about an update.

Any software updates should be done automatically on a car that age, assuming they plug it in to check.

I would check for creaks and rattles from the interior very carefully, as it's not always easy to get those sorted even within the full warranty period (BMW generally only fix them up to 6 months old). F8xs are renowned for interior rattles, so worth checking.
