Claim against 12 year anti corrosion warranty
Discussion
Hi all,
If your BMW is less than 12 years old, give it a good check over for any corrosion. After discovering rust coming through in the underside of the hatch on my Z4MC I gave it a check over. That search revealed a very small amount of bubbling/blistering starting to appear just inside the bonnet.
Car taken to dealer, claim submitted to BMW UK, approved and dropped off yesterday for a full repair/respray of the hatch underside and a complete new bonnet.
This is a particular result as the only dent on my car was an annoying little one in the bonnet.
Whilst they have it, at my expense they're going to sand down and repaint the front bumper to remove any stone chips. Best to get the lot done at the same time.

Had the same done on my Sept 05 E91 in January this year. I ended up with a replacement bonnet and rear passenger door, due to corrosion on the seams. The boot was declined as it turned out a previous owner had already had it repaired under warranty. Mine is silver and I was worried about the paint match but it was spot on!
The key is getting a dealer who will listen, my local dealer gave me the run around and after finally getting someone to have a look they just said no chance. I very nearly just left it, however a few weeks later I was passing another dealer approx 30 miles away and popped in on the off chance, they couldn't have been more helpful. They took some photos and paint depth readings and a copy of the service book, after a bit of chasing BMW approved the works a couple of weeks later. My car has mix of BMW and specialist service history, but the most recent one was at a dealer which helped.
